Floyd S. “Poochie” Freeman, 92 of Arab Alabama died Friday December 16, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Freeman was born June 16, 1924 in Marshall County to Fred C. Freeman and Mae Brown Freeman. He worked in construction as a carpenter until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was wounded twice during his service. His wife Flora Arlene Johnson Freemen preceded him in death on September 28, 2016. He enjoyed working, deer hunting and deep sea fishing.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Freeman is survived by his children, step children and in-laws: Clatis and Linda Freeman, Kenneth and Paige Freeman, Dianne and Mickey Fagan, Glennies Griggs, Jackie and Kathi Griggs; special grandson: David Helton; a sister: Bernice Parker and 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Flora Freeman, step sons: Joe Griggs and Clemon Griggs and a step grandson Greg Helton and a sister Francis Hardin.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday December 20, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Brothers: Dean Elrod and Kenneth Freeman officiating. Burial will be in New Canaan Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
