Floy Lillian (Wofford) Lanier McElrath, age 95 of Huntsville, passed away peacefully at Big Spring Manor Nursing Home on Wednesday. She was born in Statham, Georgia. After marrying her first husband, Grady Lanier, a career Air Force officer, they traveled to Germany, England, and multiple duty stations in the US. Floy was an avid golfer until age 80 and during her lifetime achieved 2 holes-in-one. As a long time member of Valley Hill Country Club she will be greatly missed by her golfing friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Grady Oliver Lanier, Jr. of Florence, AL and Patrick McElrath of Paduka, KY.

Survivors include her two sons Grady O. Lanier, III, and wife Leslie of Andalusia, AL, William E. Lanier, and wife Vicky of Huntsville, AL, daughter, Nancy E. Towry and husband Phillip of Huntsville, AL, step-daughter Linda Brown of Palito, CA, step-son Richard McElrath of Birmingham, AL, seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Spry Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday at 1:00pm at St. Stephens Episcopal Church. A Funeral will follow at 2:00 pm with The Reverend Susan Sloan conducting the service. A private entombment will follow after the service.
