FLORENCE-The Florence Police have made an arrest in the reported burglary on July 31st in downtown Florence. Here is how the Florence Police describethe arrest:” Matthew Wesley Cooper, 23, of Florence was arrested today in connection with a reported burglary on July 31. Cooper is accused of entering a downtown Florence apartment while the resident was sleeping inside. FPD initially published pictures of three persons of interest in this case. Upon investigating the incident it was found that the other two men seen in surveillance video were not involved in the crime. Cooper turned himself into police this afternoon and was charged with Burglary 2nd and Theft of Property 3rd. He is currently being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center.**All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty**”
