FLORENCE-On March 3, 2025, officers with the Florence Police Department arrested Thomas R. Fuqua, 48, for multiple charges following a domestic violence incident. Fuqua is charged with Domestic Violence Interference with a 911 Call, Sexual Abuse 1st Degree, and Domestic Violence Strangulation.
The incident began when Florence Police officers were dispatched to 929 W College Street; Wilson Food Store,
Thomas R. Fuqua
where they made contact with the victim who reported the assault. Based on the victim’s account, officers initiated an investigation which led to the identification of the offender, Thomas R. Fuqua.
Officers located Fuqua on 1100 block of Ridgeway Street, Florence, AL and took him into custody without incident. Fuqua is currently being held at the Lauderdale County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.
Thomas Fuqua is innocent until proven guilty.
