Floradean Pendergrass, age 101 of Collinsville, passed away on Friday April 23, 2021 at her residence. Mrs. Pendergrass was born on March 17, 1920 in Collinsville to the late Walter & Nena Edwards Smith. She was a member of Collinsville Baptist Church. She was apart of the Red Hat Club and Portersville Homemakers.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, April 26, 2021 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Morgan and Rev. Jerry Patton officiating. Burial will follow in the Collinsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12 noon until the 2 p.m. hour of service. The family requests no flowers but memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Mrs. Pendergrass is survived by her children, Bill Pendergrass of Hoover, AL, and Vicki DeBoard of Collinsville, AL; grandchildren, Kristin Cagna and husband, Eduardo of Basalt, CO and Breon Plunkett and husband, Jason of Barton, NY; great-grandchildren, Belen Cagna, Elias Cagna, Judah Cagna, Katie Plunkett, Karlie Plunkett, and Kinley Plunkett; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Pendergrass; daughter, Carolyn Dean Pendergrass; parents, Walter & Nena Edwards Smith; brothers, Preston Smith, Carl Smith, Ray Smith, Ralph Smith, Newman Smith, and John Smith; sisters, Iva Barksdale and Orene Reeves; and grandson, Jeremy Higginbotham.
