Fernonde Adcock Fly – Obituary

Graveside services for Fernonde Adcock Fly, age 92, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015, at Ridgecrest Cemetery in Jackson, Tennessee, conducted by the Rev. Dennis Elliott. Burial will follow with Lawrence-Soresen Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Fly went home to be with her Lord June 10, 2015, in Florence, Alabama.
She was born near Milan, Tennessee, a daughter of the late William Luther and Ora Jacobs Adcock.
Mrs. Fly was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson, Tennessee, for over 70 years where she taught Sunday school. She was currently a member of Woodmont Baptist Church in Florence, Alabama.
Mrs. Fly was a long time Red Cross volunteer. She loved all her family dearly including those dear children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thomas Fly Sr. in 1994, and two brothers, William and James Adcock.
Mrs. Fly leaves a daughter, Sheila Kimbrough and husband, Reeder, of Florence, Alabama; a son, Charles Thomas Fly Jr., of Denver, Colorado; five grandchildren, Chuck Fly, Barry Thomas Fly, and Jaynie Fly Floyd and husband, Lee, all of Franklin, Tennessee, Angeline Strawbridge, of Florence, Alabama, and Anthony Reed Kimbrough, of Bradenton, Florida; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Katherine Elliott and husband, Dennis, of Sylacauga, Alabama; and a brother, Alfred Adcock, of Rockford, Illinois.
Pallbearers to serve are Randy Hunt, Chuck Fly, Barry Fly, Taylor Strawbridge, Carson Strawbridge and Chandler Floyd.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Woodmont Baptist Church Building Fund in Florence, Alabama.
