Fayoma “Fay” Jane Lawler, age 89, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at her home in Russellville.
Fay worked for years in tax preparation and enjoyed working with upholstery. She was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church, until her health prevented her going to church and was a member of the Russellville Eastern Star. She loved her flowers, gardening, watching the hummingbirds, as well as watching football, Perry Mason and Richard Gere movies. Fay was a kind and giving woman, with a servant’s heart. She always wanted to help people, caring more about everyone else than herself, and loved unconditionally. She loved her granddaughters and great grands more than anything in the world and leaves them many wonderful memories. Even though she is walking on streets of gold and without pain, the family was not ready to let her go and will miss her each and every day.
She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Lawler; parents, Murphy & Lola Lovett; siblings, Jimmy Lovett, Mavis Lindsey, Robert Lovett, and Launa McConnel.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her granddaughters, Layla Lawler (Cory Moody), Tiffany Posey (Shawn); great-grandchildren, Ethan Lawler, Savana Knight, Kirstyn Posey, Keagan Posey, Dylan Knight; and several nieces & nephews.
The visitation will be 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Cory Moody and James Williams will speak at the service. Burial will follow at Franklin Memory Gardens.
The pallbearers will be Shawn Posey, Cory Moody, Darryl Posey, Kyle Posey, Ethan Lawler, and Tommy Crosswhite.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Alabama Hospice, especially Norma McLemore, Sherry Davis, Grace Gunn, and Michelle Adams for the love shown to our grandmother.
