Mr. Nathaniel Beck, age 86, of Arab, Alabama, passed away at his residence on Friday morning, August 28, 2026. Nathaniel was born March 30, 1940, in Moulton, Alabama, to Alvis L. Beck and Vessie D. Borden Beck. In 1989, he and his family moved from the Lacey’s Spring community to the Arab area. He was married to the late Betty Jo Cruse Beck, who passed away in 2022. For many years, he served as the parts manager at Ray Pearman Lincoln and Mercury Auto Dealership.
Nathaniel loved being at home surrounded by his family. He continually supported, encouraged, and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Alabama State Troopers Auxiliary and enjoyed mowing his lawn, caring for his yard, watching classic western television shows, and putting puzzles together.
Nathaniel was preceded in death by his parents, Alvis and Vessie Beck; his wife, Betty Cruse Beck; his daughter, Cathy Fergerson; and his siblings, Gentry Beck, Leland Beck, Billy Ray Beck, and Pauline Beck Candle.
He is survived by his grandsons, Shaun Fergerson (Lindsay) and Cody Fergerson (Jasmine); and his great-grandchildren, Sophia Hopkins, Caden Fergerson, and Cora Fergerson.
Services for Nathaniel will be Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Friends and family will gather for a visitation 9:30am until 10:45 am. The funeral service will follow at 11:00am. Scott Jones will officiate. Serving as pallbearers and escorting Mr. Beck to his final resting place in Brookwood Cemetery will be Shaun Fergerson, Cody Fergerson, Mike Fergerson, Anthony D’Angelo and Sophia Hopkins. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel are assisting with arrangements.
