Funeral service for Fay Treakle age 85 of Somerville will be Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 3:00pm at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Pearl Jenkins officiating with burial in the Somerville Church of God cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 1:00pm until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Treakle, who was born July 18, 1939, in Somerville, Al. to Carl Sherman Muzzey and Hilda Prudence Stringer Muzzey, died on January 3, 2025, at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
Fay was a business owner and operator during most of her working life. She owned a gift shop in Somerville specializing in making special gift items, flowers and even curtains. The last store was the Somerville Stop and Shop and she really enjoyed running the store and meeting people.
She is survived by a son; Glenn Alexander (Cheryl), 3 Daughters; Lynn Alexander Huttleston, Lisa Alexander Griffin and Stephanie “Cricket” Yarbrough Dudley (Alan), 2 Brothers; Danny Muzzey (Caryl) and Jeff Muzzey, 2 Sisters; her twin, Kay Sharp (Arlo), and Nora Sue Manley (Jim).
8 Grandchildren; Shannon Patterson (Todd), Monica Maples (Brad), Dusty Griffin, Nick Borden (Shonda), Caleb Brooks (Madeline), Cameron Brown (Lindsey), Morgan Griffin, and Madison Alexander.
11 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren
Caleb Brooks, Cameron Brown, Nick Borden, Dakota Glenn, Nicholas Borden, and Madison Alexander will serve as pallbearers.
