Etta Ruth Turner Mullendore – Obituary

Etta Ruth Turner Mullendore, born May 31, 1918, enjoyed 94 years to the
day with her loving famlly. Her daily Christian example was an inspiration
to everyone who knew and loved her.

Always a gracious southern lady, “Mimmie” was born in Matheston
Mississippi, to Mallie Moe Kimbriel and Thomas Creagher Turner, and grew
up in Eupora, Mississippi, where she completed her elementary and high
school education. She graduated from Mississippi State College for Women
in Columbus, Mississippi’, and earned her degree in Music Education. She
was an accomplished pianist and used this talent in serving First Baptist
Church involving herself and her family in its many ministries throughout
the years.

In addition to her parents, “Mimmie” was predeceased by her beloved
sister, Polly Worley. She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Ingram and
husband, Rick, Sisty Cofer and husband, Jim, Sandi Nelson and husband,
Alex, all who will miss her so much; brother, Dr. Thomas Creagher Turner;
grandchildren, Kellie Ingram-Wert, Michael Ingram, Missy Ingram, Jimmy
Cofer, Bryan Nelson, Millicent Elliott and Kate Holley; great grandchildren,
Hannah and GraceAnne Ingram, Trace and Keatyn Cofer, Sara Kathryn and
Nelson Elliott, Brady Nelson, and Mallory Holley. And faithful “Hunter”.

The family is grateful to and for Helen Keller ICU nurses, and especially for
the compassion and care of Dr. Dearl BirdSong and Dr. Ron McCoy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sheffield First Baptist Church
Benevolence Fund or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. There will be a private
graveside service, with a memorial service planned for a later date.

“Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies … Her
children arise up, and celli her blessed … a woman that feareth the Lord, she
shall be praised. “
