Chief Warrant Officer (CW-3. Retired) Ernest Eugene Williams passed away at the age of 98 on Friday, May 17, 2024.
Will, as he was affectionately known, spent a career in the U.S. Army and was a WWII Veteran. Assigned to the U.S. Army Missile Command, specializing in Ordinance, Missile Readiness and Field Operations, Will retired from active duty in 1976 but returned to Civil Service. He ended his career in 1990 after 45 years of meritorious service. Will was most proud to have seen the beginning and the retirement of the Pershing Missile. After retirement, Will volunteered with NARF aiding federal Retirees with income tax preparation.
Will was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Edward Williams and Mary Belisle Williams; and his 7 brothers and sisters.
Also preceding Will in death, was his beloved wife, Anna May Martin Williams; an infant daughter, Jeanne Ann; his son, Michael Eugene Williams; and his second wife, Mary Julia Carullo Williams.
Will leaves behind his daughter-in-law and caregiver, Jeri Williams-Scott; granddaughter, Kristi Myers and her children, Courtney Watson; and daughters, Lynlee and Alyssa Grace Harrell; granddaughter, Jennifer Cornell, her husband, Mark, and their daughter, Laney.
Also surviving Will are the members of Mary’s family, step-daughter, Mary, her children, David Lipsey (Nicole), Denise Taylor and Bobby Messenger and their children, Bobby Messanger III and daughter, Autumn; Justin and sons, Axl and Ace; and Dylan.
Will is to be interred with Military Honors at Arlington National Cemetery alongside his wife, Anna May.
The family wishes to express their appreciating for the Staff at Regency Retirement Village, Will’s many friends and Senior Care Director, Patrick Treece, for their loving care in the final years of life well lived.
