Funeral service for Ernest Earl Shroyer, age 86, of Decatur, will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Hal Daigre officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to service. Interment will be in Midway Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Shroyer, who died Monday, March 4, 2024, at his residence, was born July 19, 1937, in Indiana to Ernest H. Shroyer and Elsa Puckett Shroyer.. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Lewis Shroyer (Fran), Dorothy Smith (Vance), Mary Margaret Hines (LeRoy), Francis Hines (Theron), Norma Hines (Bob), and Robert “Bobby” Shroyer; daughter, Sheri Lane; and granddaughter, Betty.. Mr. Shroyer was a faithful member and elder for Connect Church in Flint. He retired from General Motors. Mr. Shroyer enjoyed running, and being a clown and talker. He loved everyone.
He is survived by his wife, Jane (Schattner) Shroyer; children, Eric Shroyer (Wanda), and Penni Butler (Keith), and Staci McNutt (Jeremy); grandchildren, Willis, Raymond, Ricki (Tony), Dani (Alex), Sam (Joseph), Charli (Jake), Benjamin, Bethany, Forrest (Mishay), Rusher, Blitz, and Boss; great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Chandler (Kaitlyn), and Ryan (Rebekah); and great-great-grandchildren, Candyn, Raelynn, Brantley, Lettie, Baylor, and Eric Ryan “E.J.”; son-in-law, Greg Lane; and a host of nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
