Emmett Verlon Copeland age 93, of Arab passed away Tuesday March 5, 2024, at his residence. Mr. Copeland was born on Oct. 23, 1931, in Marshall County, AL the son of Ellie Edwin and Bessie Leak Copeland. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was retired after a 40 plus year career as an over the road truck driver. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Tarrant. He is survived by his son: Thomas (Kelly) Copeland; daughter: Sherry (Timothy) Selby; sister: Betty Jean Johnson; grandchildren: Chris (Heather) Brewer, Brian (Lisa) Selby, Chad (Chelsea) Copeland, Austin (Jessica) Copeland, Donovan Copeland and Haley Grace Copeland; great grandchildren: Isabella Rosalyn Brewer, Evelyn Selby and Lucas Copeland; brother in law: Buford (Lynda) Green; host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ellie Edwin and Bessie Copeland; wife: Vivian Inez Copeland; children: Jimmy Copeland, Carol Copeland, Terry Copeland Brewer and Emmett Copeland; sisters: Winnie (Ewell) Breedwell and Pauline (J.P.) Cornelius and brother in law: Ray Johnson. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday March 7, 2024, at 11 AM at Arab Memorial Cemetery with Gober Funeral Chapel directing
