Mr. Elmer Donald Wiginton, 81, of Florence, passed away on April 15, 2016. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church. He retired as a Master Sergeant with 24 years of service in the United States Air Force.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Greenview Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Dr. Sammy Gilbreath and the Rev. Chris Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Tree Cemetery in Hackleburg, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Soon Ja Kim Wiginton; parents, Elmer A. and Florence E. Wiginton; brother-in-law, James L. Castleberry and nephews, James Dale Castleberry and Noah David Moody.
Survivors include his brother, Connie D. Wiginton (Joan) ; sisters, Peggy Gray (John) and Beth Moody (John); nephews, Joshua Moody (Beth) and Andrew Moody; nieces, Ashby Schlagenhauf (Adam), Lauren Harbin, Lindsey West and Glenda Castleberry and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Joshua Moody, Andrew Moody, Brett Blackburn, Derick Blackburn, Paul Russell, Sam Lambert, R. J. West and Alex Harbin will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Highland Baptist Building Fund.
