Ellis L. Goodman, age 81 of Decherd, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville. He was born in Franklin County on January 3, 1943, to the late Joe and Peggy (Riley) Goodman. Before his retirement, Ellis had owned and operated several local businesses. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed playing corn hole and fishing, as well as listening to music, restoration projects, gardening, and treasure hunting. But most of all, he cherished the time spent with his beloved family. He was a member of Owl Hollow Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Randall Goodman. Ellis is survived by his loving children, Troy (Paula) Goodman of Winchester, Traci Goodman of Winchester, and Tony (Shirley) Goodman of Decherd; grandchildren, Amy Goodman, Leslie (Keith) Lowe, Cory (Elizabeth) Goodman, Harley (Emilia) Burt, Dillan Clark, and Thomas Goodman; great-grandchildren, Amelia and Birdie; and nieces and nephews, Joey (Crystal) Goodman, Jennifer (Paul) Alley and Jaysa (James) Hill. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 9, 2024, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
