Ellen Durham Johnson age 85 of Athens, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Valley View Nursing Home in Madison. Mrs. Johnson was born March 26, 1928 in Limestone County to Perry Durham and Nora Raby Durham.
Services will be Friday, January 31, 2014 1:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Stanley Durham officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of Central Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Johnson and a son, Kim Johnson.
Survived by one daughter, Donnie Johnson Campbell of Athens; one son, Oran Johnson and wife, Melba of Athens; four grandchildren, Mary Ellen Campbell Denton, Luke Johnson, Carter Johnson and Gil Johnson; one great-grandchild, Katelyn Johnson.
Pallbearers will be Luke Johnson, Carter Johnson, Gil Johnson, Scott Hargrove, Malone Johnson, Keith Rowe, Joe Mark Douthit and Byron Johnson.
