Elizabeth Marie Kaney, age 48, passed away on May 6, 2026. Born on November 29, 1977, Elizabeth was a loving daughter, devoted mother, sister, and friend whose kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for her family touched the lives of many.
Elizabeth’s greatest joy in life was being a mother to her two sons, Jacob Champion and Brody Alford. She loved them deeply and was proud of the young men they have become. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she dedicated herself to those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald D. Kaney, Sr.; her grandparents, M.D. Kaney and Blanche Kaney, and Walter T. Fairbanks and Thelma Fairbanks; as well as numerous beloved aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her mother, Maggie F. Kaney; her sons, Jacob Champion and Brody Alford; her brothers, Chuck Kaney (Sandra), Gerald Kaney Jr. (Shirley), and Joseph Kaney (Lanae); and her sisters, Cindy Cooley (Mark), Tina Hunt (Roger), and Annette Davis (Kevin). She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish her memory and carry her love in their hearts.
Elizabeth will be remembered for her warm spirit, generous heart, and the love she shared so freely with others. Her strength, kindness, and devotion to her family will remain an enduring legacy for all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance, share memories, and celebrate the life of a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
