Miss Eldoner worked in Washington, DC during World War II but came home when her father became ill. She worked at Indian Head Mills in Cordova, where she met her future husband, Huel, when he stole her apple. They were married in Jasper, AL and lived together 67 years before his death in 2013. She was happiest when she had her whole family at her table with her delicious fried chicken and biscuits or her chicken and dumplings.
She retired from the U.S. Postal Service and worked at the Cordova Post Office for many years.
The family would like to thank her caregivers and especially her neighbor, Mike Chappelear. Mike was so kind and would faithfully get her mail every day. She loved Mike and his family like her own. Sandra Drummond was a frequent visitor and Miss Eldoner enjoyed her visits very much.
“Mom” and “Grandma” will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
