Edwina Smith Thompson, 83, of Lewisburg, died Sunday, January 4, 2015, in Maury Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Thompson was a native of Giles County, Tennessee, and daughter of the late Frank and Effie Johnson Smith. She was retired from Cosmo Lab Corporation and was a member of the Wilson Hill Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Joey Thompson and Tommy Thompson; and two brothers, Harold Smith and Herman Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Thompson; son, Barry (Monty) Thompson of Lewisburg; two brothers, Morris Smith of Phoenix, Arizona and Jimmy (Barbara) Smith of Decatur; sister, Janice (Doug) Doggett of Cullman; five grandchildren, Randy Thompson, Jennifer Ring, Jessica Newton, Benton Thompson and Austin Thompson and eight great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mars Hill Cemetery. The family will be at London Funeral Home today from 4 to 8 p.m. for visitation.
