Edwin Goss died at home on Sunday. Ed was born in Leeds, AL, on March 31, 1928. He served in the United States Army at the end of World War II, graduated from Auburn University, and retired from Redstone Arsenal Army Missile Command. Ed was a long time member of Monte Sano Methodist Church and Kiwanis Club; he loved and served his family, church and community.
He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn, parents, Dee Michie and Meta Hawkins Goss, and brothers, James H. Goss and John M. Goss. He is survived by daughters Lynn Doughty (Glen) and Cindy Stalnaker (Randy), grandchildren Randi Wilson, John Jordan (Trish) and Josh Jordan (Brooke), great-grandchildren Lee and Ethan Jordan, brother Norman Goss (Barbara), sister Mary Jane (George) Anderson, and sister-in-law June Ash.
The family wishes to thank the compassionate caregivers who provided comfort and care for Ed and his family, Cathy Hicks, Lissa Burton, Bobbi Lewis, Chad Burton, Kayreen Bellamy, Hendrena Martin, Melissa Drake, and Liana Parsons. They are also grateful to Gentiva Hospice for their support.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 3 from 12 noon to 1 p.m., with a service to follow at Monte Sano United Methodist Church.
