VESTAVIA HILLS, AL-Vestavia Hills Police Department has issued a BOLO on two armed and dangerous suspects who are believed to be responsible for a home invasion and kidnapping:
“At approximately 0758 hrs, this date, January 31, 2016, Officers of the Vestavia Hills Police Department responded to a call of a possible home invasion in the 2400 blk of Monte Vista Dr.
Officers arrived and talked to the husband and found that a white male in his mid- thirties and bald entered the home thru a garage door and stated he was having car trouble, he then pulled a gun and demanded the keys to the family vehicle. At that point suspect took the keys to the 2010 silver Ford Edge tag #2720AG7. Suspect then forced the wife into the vehicle and they were joined by a W/F accomplice 5’9-5’10, Brownish red hair, wearing a beige jacket.
Suspects then drove east on Hwy 280 and dropped victim off at Grandview Emergence Room entrance unharmed. Victim flagged down a passerby who then brought her home. Detectives are still investigating this incident. If the public should come across this vehicle or suspects do not approach call the Vestavia Hills Police Dept at 978-0140.

The two suspects pictured are wanted in connection with the Home Invasion and Kidnapping here in Vestavia Hills this morning. Pictured is Blake Fitzgerald, 31 years old, Joplin, Missouri and Brittany Harper, 31 years old, Joplin, Missouri, have felony warrants through the Jefferson County D. A. Office for the following charges:

Blake Fitzgerald:
1 count of Burglary first degree,
1 count of Kidnapping first degree,
1 count Theft of property first degree
There is no Bond on all of these charges
There will be similar charges and warrants from other local jurisdictions coming soon. The suspects may still be driving the 2010, Silver Ford Edge, tag #2720AG7. The two suspects are armed and dangerous and should not be confronted by anyone except law enforcement.
