Edward Wyndole Carbine – Obituary

Edward Wyndole Carbine, of Florence Alabama, passed from this life, peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at the age of 82.

Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday, July 26 at Spry-Williams Funeral Home with the funeral to follow in the chapel. Interment will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Officiating the service will be Kenneth Davis, Miles Stutts and Brian Giselbach.

Wyndole was born the son of Harve and Zilpha Carbine, both deceased, in Tarrant City, Alabama and moved to Florence in 1943.

Wyndole is survived by his childhood sweetheart and loving wife of 61 years, Rosalyn Gadd Carbine; one son, Rick Carbine (Laura Carbine), of Fairview, Tennessee; 3 daughters, Connie Carbine (Tim Clanton), Joy Hunt (Ronnie) and Holly Bridges (Shannon), all of Florence. He is also survived by a brother, Eugene Carbine, of Florence.

He was preceded in death by his brother, William J. Carbine; and a sister, Montene Trotti.

Wyndole was a loving, caring and devoted husband, father and friend to all.

He was a Christian and member of the Wood Avenue Church of Christ.

He was adored and loved dearly by his fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He was employed with Sears & Roebuck as an advertising manager for 21 years and retired from Tennessee Valley Authority.

Wyndole served his country in the Naval Reserve, the U.S. Army and the National Guard. His tour of duty in the Army was during the Korean conflict.

He served as past president of the Florence Jaycee’s, a former member of the Gulfport/Biloxi Merchants Associations and also the Florence and Gulfport Mississippi Elks Lodge. Wyndole was an active member of the Alabama Chapter K Goldwing Motorcycle Association and enjoyed riding with his Goldwing family.

Pallbearers will be Eric Plunk, Ed Lovelace, Lee Wilson, Jimmy Carbine, James Carbine, Rusty Carbine, Doug Trotti, Jason McCaffrey and Justin Carbine York. Members of the Chapter K Goldwing Motorcycle Association will serve as honorary pallbearers and escort.

The family wishes to thank, with sincere gratitude, the generous and devoted neighbors who helped throughout his illness and Ann Massey of Amedisys Hospice Care for her kindness and compassion .
