Edward-Lang-1471283818Edward Eugene “Gene” Lang, 83 of Arab Alabama, formerly of the Baileyton Area, died Monday August 15, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Arab.
Mr. Lang was born February 21, 1933 in Marshall County to Elmer Eugene Lang and Velma Snow Lang. He was a farmer for many years and enjoyed fishing, tinkering, collecting coins and marbles. He was married to the former Opal Mae Harden for 60 years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Opal Mae Lang; daughters and son-in-law: Rita Faye Brown, Norma Jean and Wayne Burgett; two brothers and sister-in-law: Leonard and Nell Lang, Bobby Lang; grandchildren: Steven Burgett, Nicholas and Cheyeene Brown, Jennifer and Timmy Nayman, Cynthia and Brandon Chastain, Brandi and B.J. Smith; great grandchildren: Justin Nayman, Austin Nayman, Daizy Nayman, Ella Kate Chastain, Bentley Chastain and Dessiray Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents: Elmer and Velma Lang; a son-in-law: Phillip Brown, one sister and four brothers.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday August 17, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Brothers: Sam Johnson and Kenneth Putnam, officiating. Burial will be in Old Union Hill Methodist Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Steven Burgett, Nicholas Brown, B.J. Smith, Timmy Nayman, Brandon Chastain and Cody Lepard.
Visitation will be 6:00p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday August 16, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
