Edna Gant, age 81, of Somerville, AL passed away Monday, June 26, 2023, at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, AL. She was a native of Summertown, TN and retired from Sloan Valve Company. She loved going to casinos, playing poker, traveling, and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clessie and Willie Mae Lemay Jaco; one son, Ricky Gant; one daughter, Rhonda Martin; four sisters, Jo Ann Goode, Janie Jaco, Patricia McDonald, and Mary Lee Holley; and eight brothers, Neal Jaco, Billie Jaco, Edward Lemay, Leonard Jaco, Jessie “Gabby” Jaco, Paul Ray Jaco, Jerry Wayne Jaco, and James K. Jaco.
She is survived by one daughter, Roxie Parker (David) of Lombard, IL; one son, Rufus Marvin Gant of Water Valley, MS; one brother, Clessie Thomas Jaco, Jr. of Spring Hill, TN; four grandchildren, Jackson Lee Parker, Callie Ann Parker, Skylar Jeng Gant, and Andy Catron; several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 1, 2023, with Bill Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Brace Cemetery in Lawrence County, TN.
