Funeral service for Edith Mary Terry, age 76, of Lacey’s Spring, will be Thursday, June 2, 2016, 1:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Chuck Terry officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Grange Hall Cemetery.
Mrs. Terry, who died Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Huntsville Hospital, was born February 4, 1940, in Morgan County, to Jodie Ampton Meares and Estelle Irene Chamlies Meares. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Irwin Terry, Sr., siblings, Louie Meares, Lum Meares, Gary Meares, Martha Miller, and Linda Peterson, and two grandchildren, Nathan Graham and Dean Graham.
She is survived by four children, Vanessa Francis of Lacey’s Spring, Chuck Terry (Susan), of Lewisburg, TN, Nancy Graham (Elton) of Gardendale, and Byron Terry (Dana) of Huntsville; six siblings, Lellyan Davis, Wayne Meares, Connie Wilbanks, Jimmy Meares, Brenda Blankenship, and Vickie Whisenant; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Daniel Francis, Jacob Terry, Jonathan Terry, and Joshua Terry, along with Andy Terry and Jacob Harber. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, Whitney Francis, Jessica Harber, Robyn Terry, and Stacie Terry.
