Edith Marine Lauderdale, 97 of Athens, passed away on Sunday, June 11th, 2023, at Limestone Nursing & Rehab. Mrs. Lauderdale was born August 16th, 1925, in Greenbrier, Alabama to Joe Louis Lewis and Tassie Smith.
Mrs. Lauderdale is survived by her daughter Carolyne George(Jerry); her son Stan Lauderdale(Janice); daughters-in-law Dianne Lauderdale and Metra Marbutt; 8 grandkids; 13 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
She is preceded by her parents; her husband William H. “Homer” Lauderdale; sons Richard S. Lauderdale, William “Dale” Lauderdale; her 6 siblings; and her granddaughter Jennifer George.
Services for Mrs. Lauderdale will be Wednesday, June 14th, 2023 at 2:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 14th, from 12:45pm to 1:45pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Dement Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Grant Lauderdale, Adam Lauderdale, Nick Case, Reid Lauderdale, Rusty Bates, and Wes Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Marshall Smith and Mason Lauderdale.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hospice of Limestone County or your choice of favorite charity.
