Graveside service for Edith Louise Montgomery Johnson, 91, of Moulton will be Friday, November 28, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Moulton Memory Gardens with Reverend Amy Howard officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Johnson, who died Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at her residence, was born December 15, 1922, in Lawrence County to Claude C. Montgomery and Ida L. Long Montgomery. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Moulton. Mrs. Johnson was retired from the Lawrence County Board of Education as head bookkeeper. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Hector Montgomery and one sister, Rebecca Hyde.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 72 years, C.J. Johnson; one son, Charles “Mike” Johnson and Virginia of Moulton; one brother, Lynn Montgomery of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Brent Johnson of Moulton, Alicia Nails and Jeremy of Decatur and Margaret “Marlo” Greene and Travis of Daniel Island, SC; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Brent Johnson, Jeremy Nails, Travis Green, Gerald Dodd, Eddie Dodd and George Nancarrow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Moulton Building Fund or Hospice of the Valley.
