Edgar Russeau Lamar, age 80, of Decatur, died on Monday December 5, 2022.
Mr. Lamar was a deacon and active member of Parkview Baptist Church. He proudly served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Lamar is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Eller Mae Norman Lamar, two brothers, and two sisters.
Mr. Lamar is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rachel Jarrett Lamar; his daughter, Susan Claborn and husband Jason; his son, Dan Lamar and wife Chauna; his grandchildren, Abbey Claborn, Erin Claborn Colmenero and husband Ethan; Kaigan Lamar, and Wyatt Lamar; his great granddaughter, Amara Colmenero; and his sisters, Nell Allen, Imogene Nelms, Anner Mae Smith, and Ginny Peck and husband Gerald; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday December 11, 2022, at 2 pm with Rev. Fred Bueto officiating. The family will receive friends on that day from 1pm until 2pm.
