Edgar “Ed” William Nave, 89, of Athens, Alabama passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026.
Ed spent his whole life in the Athens community and was a member at Sardis Springs Baptist Church. He took pride in helping the church in many capacities such as a Sunday school teacher, a training union director, working with the youth groups, as well as singing in the choir. In his free time, Ed enjoyed working on the farm and being outdoors.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents, B.B. Nave and Clara Mae Campbell Nave, two brothers, Hollis Nave and Junior Nave, as well as one sister, Margaret Prichard.
Ed is survived by his wife of 68 years and proud Californian, JoAnn Barrick Nave, two sons, Don W. (Becky) Nave and Bradley E. (Melody) Nave, two daughters, Cindy Moore and Angie Nave, seven grandchildren: Jake Nave, Dwon Nave, Dusty Nave, Braden Moore, Chelsey Moore, Drew Bradford, and Wesley Bradford, as well as eight great grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held for Mr. Nave on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Sardis Springs Cemetery in Athens, Alabama with service time beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Sardis Springs Cemetery. Bro. Tim Keenum will officiate the service.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home is assisting the family with services.
