Mrs. Eddie Lee Holt, of Cherokee, passed away on October 29, 2016 at the age of 90. Her visitation will be Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Tommy West and Gary Lobegge officiating. Burial will be in Barton Cemetery.
Mrs. Holt was a joyous person who loved people and life. She was a retired seamstress from the Iuka Shirt Factory and a member of Barton First Baptist Church. Mrs. Holt was preceded in death by her husband, Opel H. Holt; son, Donnie Cornelius Holt; and daughter, Deanie Murphy.
She is survived by her daughters, Kaye Maddox and Charlotte Campbell (Don); son-in-law, Steve Murphy; sister-in-law, Rose Lawson; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Mrs. Holt’s sitters, Brenda, Sharon, and Sissy and to the Cottage of the Shoals.
Mrs. Holt’s grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
