Calvert O. Sutton age 82 of Athens, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Athens Limestone Hospital. Mr. Sutton was born November 19, 1933 in Kennett, MO to Dean Sutton and Letha Bechtel Sutton.
Services will be Friday, November 4, 2016 11:00 a.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Greg Lauderback and Dan Hughes officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, November 3, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Sutton was a United States Navy Veteran, and was retired from General Motors. He loved to walk in the woods with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sarah Elizabeth Sutton; one sister and one brother.
Survived by his wife, Gladys Sutton of Athens; two daughters, Betty Vandyke and husband, Don of MI and Darla Suggs and husband, Jeff of Athens; four grandchildren, Matthew Vandyke, Aaron Vandyke, Jonathan Suggs and Evan Suggs; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor Morris, Jackson Vandyke, Braden Vandyke, Bailey Vandyke, Huxton Suggs, Stone Suggs and Samuel Suggs; one sister, Ola Mae Wright of MO; also survived by two step-children, Randy Campbell and wife, Lynnette and Vicki Pylant and husband, Tony; two step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
