Eddie Carolyn Moody, 82, passed away at her residence on Sunday, September 20th, 2026, at 6:32 am. She was surrounded by family including her daughters, son-in-law, and granddaughter at the time of her passing. She was born in Red Bay, AL on February 24th, 1944 at Dr. Weatherford’s farm. She was born to Edna and Delbert Stanphill of Red Bay, AL. She was a CNA and worked in healthcare for most of her life. She was a member of Calvary Family Worship center for over 30 years and then Trinity Assembly of God for the remainder. She was very active in the church and her community. She was a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir, and was involved in the ladies ministry group. Eddie was full of life and loved all of those around her. She was a mother and grandmother to many.
Her services will be Tuesday, September 22, 2026, 6:00 p.m. at Trinity Assembly of God Church, Red Bay, AL with Brother David Kelly officiating. Visitation will Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 4-6 p.m. at Trinity Assembly of God. There will be no graveside service, but she will be laid to rest at Belmont City Cemetery in Belmont, MS alongside her husband. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her eldest daughter – Lisa Moody; youngest daughter – Kimberly Underwood (Brad Underwood); one granddaughter Skylar Sparks (Kyle Sparks); one sister-in-law, Janice Moody; one brother-in-law, W.D. Moody; and her beloved pets Ravyn, Anuuk, and Max.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Edna Stanphill, her father Delbert Stanphill, and her beloved husband Jimmy J. Moody.
Pallbearers will be Tim Milam, Ricky Holland, Joey Moore, Reed Gasaway, Justin Perry, and Erik McDonald.
Honorary Pallbearers are Brad Underwood, Kyle Sparks, and Reid Miller.
