Earl Daniel Cortright, age 85 of Shelbyville, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Highpoint Health Medical Center in Winchester. He was born on October 28, 1940, in Cortland, New York, to the late Daniel and Clara Cortright. Earl proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Before his retirement, he was employed as a mechanic. A Christian man, he was of the Methodist faith. In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his siblings, Barbara, Claude, Diane, and Pauline. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-four years, Elfrieda Cortright; children, Irene (Robert) Utzman, and Curtis (Cindy) Cortright; grandchildren, Cortney (Jacob) Walters, and Vincent Walters; and siblings, Charles, John, Lila, and Kay. No formal services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
