A visitation for Mr. Duane Byron Henson will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 3:00 PM in the chapel. Pastor Mark Carroll will be officiating. Peck Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
Mr. Henson passed away at the age of 68 Saturday morning December 30, 2023 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born to Robert and Jacqueline Smith Henson in Germany on August 24, 1955. He was Chief Engineer of Maintenance at Huntsville Hospital prior to retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting and camping. He was an exceptional wood worker in addition to enjoying cooking and was known to be a very hard worker with a clever sense of humor. He loved his family tremendously, especially his grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents, and stepsister, Gwen Kendell.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Elizabeth “Kathy” Kathryn Henson of Decatur
One son, Harry Steven Goodwin, Jr Beckley, WV.
Two daughters, Jennifer Henson (Romon) of Ocala, FL and Marybeth Smith (Samuel) of Huntington, WV
Two brothers, Larry Henson of Arley, AL, George Henson of Tulsa, OK
Stepbrother Stanley Dyer of CA.
One sister, Diane Henson of Supulpa, OK
One stepsister, Martha Dyer of Cushing, OK
Six grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
