The Annual Dragon Boat Races are coming up this Saturday. The event will start at 9:00AM. Sheri Wiggins from the Quad Cities Daily will be covering the races on that day. However, I happen to be a McFarland Park Tuesday afternoon and witnessed two teams practicing for the race. It was interesting to watch the boat rowers synchronize themselves to the commands to the Boat Master.
Another amazing thing that astonished me was that the Boat Master controlled the rear rudder that could almost turn the boat on a dime. Below are pictures that I took of the two teams practicing. If you get a chance to attend the Boat Races Saturday, I think you are in for a treat.
