Mr. Douglas “Wayne” McCluney, age 77 of Gadsden passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2020 at Collier-Butler Chapel. Rev. Randy Hagan will officiate. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Wayne was a 1961 graduate of Gadsden High School, studied business at Jacksonville State University and received his Master’s Degree in education from the University of Alabama. He was a member and deacon at Dwight Baptist Church and was always supportive of his children and grandchildren in their athletics. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ruth McCluney; brother, Ronald McCluney; sister-in-law, Kay Hall McCluney and brothers-in-law, Lamar Sims and Glenn Thrower. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Judy Brown McCluney; sons, Marc (Denise) McCluney and Michael (Samantha) McCluney; grandchildren, Campbell Landen McCluney; Baylor Reese McCluney; Luke Callan McCluney; Audrey Faith McCluney; Maren Adele McCluney; sister, Joyce Sims; sister-in-law; Jackie Thrower; brothers-in-law, Richard (Donna) Brown; Eddie (Theresa) Brown and several nieces and nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be deacons of Dwight Baptist Church. The family extends special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and staff of MICU at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Dwight Baptist Church. Visitation will be Friday from 12 p.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
