Notice for Douglas "Doug" McArthur Conwill

Douglas McArthur Conwill, 83, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at his home in Tremont. He was born April 9, 1942, in Itawamba County, to Judson and Willie Griffus Conwill. He was an Industrial Electrician for 42 years, working at several different companies, before retiring from Lucky Star Industries. He loved fox hunting, squirrel hunting, and gardening. He was an avid conversationalist and enjoyed talking with his family and friends.

 

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 21, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton. Burial will be in the Clayton Family Memorial Cemetery in the Greenwood Community.

 

Survivors include his wife, Cherry Clayton Conwill; two sons, Sonny Conwill (Linda) of Town Creek. AL, and Kyle Conwill (Natalie) of Fulton; three daughters, Lena Conwill of Tupelo, Lagina Smith (Josh) of Guntown, and Kadie Conwill of Tremont; two brothers, Milton Conwill (Sue) of Hamilton, AL., and J.L. Conwill of Tremont; eight grandchildren, Preston George, Dawson George, Brody Smith, Abby Evans, Camille Conwill, Judson Conwill, Kallee Moore, and Easton Kelso; two great grandchildren, Willa Evans and Luna Evans.

 

He was preceded in death by the mother of his eldest children, Laura Crane Conwill; one daughter-in-law, Star Newsome; and his parents.

 

Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
