Doug Morton, 57, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017, at his residence. Mr. Morton was born July 12, 1960, in Greensboro, North Carolina, to Raymond James and Tula Belle Morton. He was a 1978 graduate of Decatur High School. He retired from Copeland Industry and was a avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Doug is survived by his sisters, Roanna Morton Cook and Pat Morton Moon and husband, Allen; also his nephew, Clay Cook, and great-nephew, Hugh Cook, and great-niece, Belle Cook.
The family will receive friends Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Wheeler Wildlife Refuge Association. Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family.
