Dorothy Lee Richardson age 92 of Florence passed away on Wednesday April 23, 2014. Visitation will be Saturday April 26, from Noon till 2:00 PM at Elkins Funeral Home of Florence with Services in the Chapel at 2:00 PM. Officiating will be Rev. Sonny Hargett. Burial will be at Walston cemetery.
Mrs. Richardson was a native of Lauderdale County, who was born to the late Tom and Rena Bell Miles. She was also preceded in death by the father of her children, George A. Richardson. Her brothers, Bill and Alfred “Hat” Miles, her children, Harold, Elizabeth, Kenny and Terry Richardson and her grandson, Tony Brewer.
Dorothy is survived by her children. Sandra Brewer, George L. “Bud” Richardson, Rose Cantrell (Dale), and Melissa Austin (Ed). Grandchildren, Susan Burbank (Jeff), Michelle Terrell (Keith), Janet Butler (Michael), Whitney Risner (Tony), Stacy Lentz (Felix), Shannon Richardson, Kenny (Caitlyn), and Tyler Richardson. Nine great-grandchildren and one due in August. Two great great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tony Risner, Blake Brewer, Tommy Miles, Jason Wilkinson, Jeff Burbank and Robert Fowlkes.
Our Mother truly loved life and all her children and their families. She was Momma Dot to many and mamaw to her grandchildren. She never met a stranger and had a heart of gold. As well as a great sense of humor and would help you anyway she could. We were blessed to call her Mother and have her with us all these years. Heaven gained a beautiful Angel. You will be truly missed but never forgotten. Rest in Peace our Precious Mother. We Love you.
