Ms. Dorothy June Brown, age 76, passed away on Tuesday evening, May 20, 2025, at
Barfield Health Care in Guntersville, Alabama. Dorothy was born in Peoria, Illinois on
October 26, 1948. She was one of nine children born to Glen Bryant and Phyllis Marie Roby
Bryant. She was a resident of Rainsville, AL, formerly of Guntersville. She spent most of her
working career in customer service and the restaurant business.
Dorothy was a proclaimed follower of Christ. She cherished her time with her children and
grandchildren often. She also enjoyed fishing, playing card games (Uno and Skipbo),
crossword puzzles, tending to her flower garden, hummingbird watching, and caring for her
beloved dog, Bella.
Family members preceding Dorothy in death include her parents, Glen and Phyllis Bryant;
brothers, Richard Bryant, Ronald Bryant, Bobby Bryant, Sonny Bryant, and Glen Bryant II;
and sisters, Carol Bryant and Jean Maple.
Family members Dorothy leaves behind to cherish memories include her daughters, Crystal
Warren (Michael), Michelle Lewis (Joel), and Angie Carroll; son, John Richard Thompson
(Ruth); and sister, Shirley Stanberry. She also leaves eight grandchildren – Amanda, Joshua,
Hannah, Timothy, Meghann, Travis, Courtney, and Cory, and eight great grandchildren –
Bryce, Briggs, Taeyana, Bria, Jay, Ty, Jaxon, and Jasmyn. She is known by many as mother,
sister, grandma, grammy, and friend.
Dorothy will be honored with a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 2:00 P.M. on Friday,
June 6, 2025, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel in Arab, AL. The family will gather with
friends and guests for a visitation time at 1:00 P.M. Brother Micah Johnson will be
officiating her services. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel is entrusted with all arrangements.
