Funeral for Dorothy Irene Hames, 78, of Decatur will be Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Brother Joe Holmes officiating. Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hames, who died Monday, May 16, 2016, at River City Health and Rehab, was born, May 1, 1938, to Charlie and Mildred Welsh. She was a member of Vestavia Hill Baptist Church. She retired as a pie maker from Big Bob Gibson. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Dennis Hames.
Survivors include her husband, George Edwin Hames; two sons, Rick Hames and Steve Hames; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
