Dorothy Carroll Henderson

Dorothy Carroll Henderson, age 101, of Cullman, Alabama, left her earthly home and entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2020.  She passed away peacefully at Woodland Nursing Village.  She was beloved by her family and friends.  Dorothy was a stay-home mother and then worked at Saint Bernard College where she served as faculty secretary.  She was a lifetime member of First Christian Church, where she was a member of the choir, a deaconess, and served on various committees.

 

Dorothy was born on December 2, 1928, in Cullman to Elbert & Daisy Mae Jones Carroll.  She was the youngest of eight children, preceded in death by her two brothers and five sisters.  She was married for 67 years to Millard Henderson, who precedes her in death, along with her son, Wilson Henderson.  Dorothy is survived in death by her daughter, Penny Henderson Burkett, and four grandchildren, Lowell Henderson, Heather Henderson, Sharon Bates and John Bates.  She also had several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

 

Graveside service for Mrs. Henderson will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 28th, 2020 at Hopewell Baptist Cemetery, Minister Robin Lambert officiating.
