Dorothy Brookman, age 64, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015, at her home. She was born Nov. 20, 1951, in Hartselle, Alabama, to Junior Claudie and Helen Jewel (Roberson) Boger. She married Paul Stanley Brookman on August 5, 1988, in Rockford, Michigan and was trained as an electronics technician at Nunnally Technical College. Dorothy served in the United States Army and had been a member of the Croton American Legion. She was an artist, always wore her cowboy hat, enjoyed flowers, and gardening, and caring for her dogs, Audrey and Gidget, and her cat Blue. She loved movies and the old western TV shows, shopping at Goodwill, and yard sales with her husband, Paul, for special deals. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharla Beth Hulvey, and father-in-law, Stanley Ross Brookman.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Paul; children, Gabriel (Jill) Hulvey, of White Cloud, and Robin (Jill Bronkema) Williams, of Newaygo; grandchildren, Damion, Jaryd, and Willow; brother and sister, Eddie Boger of Alabama, and Merry Kay (Roger) Wawsczyk, of White Cloud; her mother and father, Junior and Helen Boger, of Alabama; sister-in-law, Karen (Jeffery) Conolly, of Hillsdale, Michigan; mother-in-law, Carol Brookman, of Fremont; and many nieces and nephews.
