Obituary of Dorothy Ann Garner  Dorothy Ann “Dot” Garner of Booneville, passed away peacefully, on July 14, 2026, at the Landmark Nursing and Rehab Center in Booneville, Mississippi. She was born on September 14, 1933, to William “Bill” and Ruby Stockton Lauderdale in Prentiss County, Mississippi.

Dot married Charles “Red” Garner on December 27, 1948, and remained married until death parted them when Red passed away 58 years later on January 16, 2007.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Garner and wife Nancy of Kalispell, Montana and Bill Garner and wife Linda of Jackson, Missouri; two daughters, Lisa Stevens of Booneville, and Stephanie Gable and husband Jeff of Diamondhead, Mississippi; ten grandchildren: Elise Garner, Liz Garner, John Jason Garner, Emily Iwata (Dane), Bee Gable (Val), Katie Garner, Leah Galloway (Brett), Madison Gable, Grace Gable (Abby), and Lainey Stevens; three great-granddaughters, Bailey Garner, Megan Garner, and Lucy Iwata; and one sister, Hilda Pierce (Linden).

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her great-granddaughter, Sloane Alexandra Galloway; two brothers, Charles Wayne and Cecil Lauderdale; and one sister, Nila June McCoy.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 19th at McMillan Funeral Home.

A celebration of life will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m., with her son, Rev. Larry Garner, officiating, and her daughter, Stephanie, will deliver the eulogy, which she also wrote. Burial will be in the Gaston Cemetery.

Jeff Gable, Perry Whitaker, Stephen Christian, Chad Pierce, Brett Galloway, and Dane Iwata will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to thank those who attended to our mother and grandmother while she lived at the Landmark Community (2020-2022) and the Landmark Nursing and Rehab Center (2022-2026). They cannot fully express how thankful they are for the dedicated staff and medical professionals that took care of MawMaw Dot for the past six years after she could no longer live independently.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaston Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member for 75 years, First Methodist Church in Booneville, or Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS.
