Doris Taylor Weems, 82, Decatur, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023. Visitation will be Thursday, June 22, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Charles Simmons officiating. Interment will be in Shaw Cemetery, Leighton.
Doris was a member of 16th Avenue Baptist Church, Decatur. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Wilhelmina Taylor.
She is survived by her husband, Garnith Gerald Weems; daughter, Doris Jeanette Hensley (Wayne); sister, Myrtle Ann Dossey; grandchildren, Bradley Hensley (Mariah) and Katrina Posey (Brandon); and great-grandchildren, Aubrey Posey and Langston Hensley.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Hensley, Wayne Hensley, Brandon Posey, Eric Dossey, Dale Weems, and Dale Fugate. James Kimbrough will serve as honorary pallbearer.
