Doris Roper Power 91 of Huntsville passed away at her home Wednesday May 2, 2018. She was born March 7, 1927. She is preceded in death by her parents Birten and Della Roper and her husband Maurice Power. Also by her siblings, Elzie Roper, Willie Roper, Rosa Lee Roper, Beadie Butler, Alma Whitt and J.P. Roper. She is survived by one son Lariy Power, daughter Lyn Quillin (Jim). Her grandchildren are David Ogle (Erica), Kim Johnson (Charlie), Jim Quillin Jr. (Tracy) and Teresa Williams. Her grandchildren are Tyler Johnson, Nick Johnson, Reece Johnson, Anna Quillin and Lindsey Quillin, Ashley Powell, Hunter Williams and Sonya Williams. One great granddaughter Aubrey Ogle.
She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church for 59 years. She was a quiet loving wife, mother and grandparent. She was strong in her faith, She spent her life loving her husband, children and being in her home. She made all her clothes, made do with what she had while her husband worked and made their living. She loved going to church and worshipping in her church.
Funeral service will be held Monday, May 7, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Spry Funeral Home with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
