Donnie Magdalene Hallmark Corsby, age 97, Leighton, died on Saturday, February 8, 2025. Visitation will be at Poplar Creek Church, Leighton, on Tuesday, February 11, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will immediately follow at the church with nephews, Coy Hallmark and Phillip Potter officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Creek Cemetery.

Donnie was preceded in death by her parents, Cassie Pearl Jeffreys Hallmark and Benjamin Lawson Hallmark; husbands, Reubin Hance Corsby (forty-nine years) and Henry Richard Morgan (two years); an infant son; son-in-law, Douglas Reardon; siblings and their spouses, Lassie and Riley Box, Vester and Martha Lee Hallmark, Chester and Inez Hallmark, Katherine Hallmark, Carrie Box Thorpe, Billy Box, Wallace Thorp Odis Hallmark, Melvin and Betty Hallmark, Billy Mansell, Clyde Hallmark, Bud Landers, and Judy and Jerry Gargis; and lifelong friend Doris Coan.

Donnie is survived by her beloved children, Carole, Bob, and Karen Corsby; grandchildren, Nicholas Reardon, Brent and Andrea South, and Derek and Emma South; great-grandchildren, Mason, Addison, and Audrey South; Richard and Rachel’s children, Allen and Kay Morgan, Mary and Frank Nixon, Martha and Lanoice Wheeles and their respective children and grandchildren; siblings, Stella Hallmark, Vera and Verbon Vandiver, and Vada Landers; siblings-in-law, Lucy and Jean Hallmark; numerous nieces, nephews, and their descendants; hundreds of cousins, friends, and neighbors; close friend, Barbara South; and special friend and playmate, Evelyn Vadie Sides. Donnie was “Granny to Mason, Addison, and Audrey, and “MeeMaw” to Nick, Vadie, and Maggie.

Donnie had been a faithful member of Poplar Creek Church for over seventy-five years.

After her children were grown, she earned a nursing degree and retired from Helen Keller Hospital nursing staff following a seventeen-year tenure. During retirement she enjoyed traveling to many places in the continental US, Hawaii, and Canada.

Pallbearers will be Nicholas Reardon, Brent South, Derek South, Tony Hallmark, Ron Potter, and Ellis Ford. Honorary pallbearers will be Mason South, Bernard Akin, Oneal Hicks, Philip Hallmark, Carl Box, Mark Corsby, Gary Mansell, Benjie Box, Steve Vandiver, Ken Hallmark, Jeff Gargis, Alan Hallmark, and Scottie Hacker.

The family expresses special thanks to Dr. Jerry Williams, Dr. Mark Kassels, Dr. Richard Deal, and Dr. Courtney Bowen, as well as the staff of Enhabit Home Health and Hospice for their services.
