Donna Rene Shannon, 63, of Ardmore, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2026, at her home in Ardmore, Alabama.
She was born on Friday, January 4, 1963, to the late James Arnold Frazier and the late Lillian Margarette Hopkins Frazier.
Donna lived in the Ardmore community her entire life and was a proud member of Sweet Springs Baptist Church. In her free time, she enjoyed watching Andy Griffith, visiting the thrift shops, taking day trips and eating Chinese food from the Golden Phoenix with her family, as well as spending time in her kitchen cooking.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents, as well as her husband of 43 years, Sam Shannon.
Donna is survived by her two sons, Matthew (Taylor) Shannon and Jonathon Shannon, one brother, Jimmy (Sheri) Frazier, one sister, Cynthia (Manuel) Lopez, as well as five grandchildren: Ava, Emilia, Noelle, Magnolia, and Orrin.
There will be a visitation held for Mrs. Shannon at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, Alabama, on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM. A chapel service is scheduled immediately after visitation with service time beginning at 5:00 PM. Pastor Brent Logan will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Gatlin Cemetery.
In recognition of Mrs. Shannon surviving her battle with cancer, the family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the charity of your choice.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home is assisting the family with services.
