Donald Ray Payne, 78, of Huntsville, passed away November 21, 2021, in Huntsville, Alabama. Don was born in Huntsville and graduated from Butler High School. He obtained a degree in business administration from Athens State University. After retiring from Steelcase Manufacturing Co. where he served as Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineer, Don enjoyed working with World Bible School and serving as valet parking assistant at Mayfair Church of Christ. He was an avid Alabama football fan and enjoyed wood-working, and spending time with family and friends.
Don is survived by his wife, Sue; son, Jeffrey Payne (wife, Tyra); daughter, Sonya Rosado (husband, Anthony); granddaughter, Tiffany Rosado; grandson, Matthew Payne (wife, Jessica); and great-grandsons, Benton, Braydon, and Grayson.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held Wednesday at Mayfair Church of Christ at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 11:45 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
