Donald “Ray” Hudson Sr. passed away on June 2, 2026, at the age of 76. “Ray” was born on February 6, 1950, in Alabama, and residing in Steele, Alabama.Ray enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, and having a delicious meal at his favorite restaurant, the Western Sizzlin. Most of all he enjoyed being with his family and the ones he loved. Ray was a smiling face at all of their family barbeques. He was an incredibly hard worker for the length of his whole life, and he had become family through many years with his coworkers at Fueling Solutions. Ray described his two sons, Kevin and Donnie, as his “pride and joy.” His newfound joy and love were his granddaughters, who cherish every memory they made together with their Paw Paw.
Ray is preceded in death by his mother and father, George T. and Ruby Jewel Hudson. His brothers, Roy Wayne Hudson, William David Hudson; his sister, Dorothy Mae Hudson; and his granddaughter, Cassie Rachelle Hudson.
Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Donald Ray (Amy) Hudson Jr. and Kevin Duane (Amanda) Hudson; his granddaughters, Claudia Hudson Boak, Kaitlin Nicole Hudson, and Ruby Mae Hudson. His sister, Virginia Kilgore. Also, the beloved mother to his children, and his dear friend, Sharon Hudson Brumbelow.
Visitation will be held at Collier-Butler Funeral Home, 824 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, AL 35901, US, on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and the Funeral Service will be held at Collier-Butler Funeral Home on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 12:30 pm.
Pallbearers will be, Brian Bearden, Jimmy Wall, Cecil Burns, Bailey Boak, Wyatt Emmanuel, Steve Sheffield.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Steve McCurdy and his family; also, Carol Cole and her family for their enduring support and love for their father and grandfather.
